Friends of Lulu's 2008 Board of Directors
Friends of Lulu's Board of Directors are elected each summer at Comic Con: International at San Diego. This year's board members are listed below. All board members are volunteers, and receive no compensation (beyond reimbursement of expenses). Candidates for the Board must have been members of Friends of Lulu for at least 60 days prior to the election. Both comics professionals and comics fans are welcome to run for the board; self-nominations are accepted.

Leigh Dragoon
Vice President, Public Communications
|
Leigh Dragoon is the writer and artist of the fantasy comic,
By the Wayside,
which runs on Girlamatic.com. She also writes for
Sequential Tart and manages the FOL website. Leigh was always interested
in telling stories, and became very interested in comics after reading Elfquest when she was 13 years old. 'Elfquest was the only
comic I could afford to buy for years, and I assumed all comics had a similar level of quality. Imagine my surprise when I poked my head up out
of my hole and saw how shoddy the characterization of females tended to be in mainstream books! It was in my search for more female-friendly comics
organizations that I came across FOL, and I thought it was a great idea right off. I grew up reading my father's old Little Lulu comics and,
looking back, what better figurehead for FOL is there? Lulu was an inventive storyteller, spunky, and almost always got the better of Tubby.'
